The Now, The Here

I took 49 pix this morning, moved off the deck, tried different angles. But you know, the 1st one is my favorite, I think.

"The now, the here, through which all future
plunges to the past."
James Joyce

Virtually no clouds in the sky this morning, the horizon is a glowing pastel. Clarity from here to Asheville is astounding... Stillness... and the now, the here.

Be Like the Bird

Always thrilled when I catch a surprise shot... like a bird flying across my horizon. Sort of a morning bonus kiss to start my day...

"Be like the bird

That, pausing in her flight
Awhile, on boughs too slight,
Feels them give way
Beneath her and yet sings,
Knowing that she hath wings."
Victor Hugo

Clouds and fog gingerly cup the rising red sun. Morning caress. Dozens of birds sing and dance. Aloha, says my heart ...Beauty of the sunrise fills me with such hope... and love. Asheville is just a special place to live.

Your Masterpiece.

"Make each day your masterpiece.
You have
control over that."
John Wooden

Orange gold blue sky says goodbye to that sliver of a moon. So beautiful this morning.

Filled with Spirit

Glowing crescent moon and gentle fog in the cove. Stars. Gorgeous Monday Morning. Aloha! ...Watching moon and fog rise. Spellbinding patterns. Change. Dozens upon dozens of birds singing. Perfect time...

"Enthusiasm literally means being filled with spirit."
~ Stephen Larson

All this beauty makes my little problems seem so insignificant. Easier to fill up with this than be full of myself... wowie. good one today...

Something New to Emerge

So... much... beauty... Just waiting for us to see.

"Some changes look negative on the surface
but you will soon realize
that space is being created in your
for something new to emerge.
~ Eckhart Tolle

Quiet sun rises through the thick fog. Spectacular crescent orb... Now that I have my photographs, the sky opens with tears. It is pouring here... & like a midnight shooting star, the sun has disappeared...

"Live to the point of tears."
Albert Camus

Gentle whisper of mist settles in valley. Streaks of gold only through heavy gray clouds. Beautiful clouds. It's raining...

"Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into a flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who rekindled this light."
Albert Schweitzer

Low hanging, thick clouds this morning. But the golden light clings to the mountain ridge. Stunning... Each morning, another promise... The sky! Gold, melon-orange fire over Asheville. Thunder in the distance. Drama on the ridge this morn... I am always shooting into the light... It is raining. Gray clouds have completely covered the sky. But I have some pix!!!! Aha. Coming...

Front forest doing the hula with the wind's new choreography. Lights on & off & on. Rumble, says the dark gray sky. (Better hurry up with this blog photo.)

Our Creative Power

The sky is fantastic this morn. Vibrant, passionate colors. Changing too quickly to keep up. I... am... in... awe...

Oh, the beauty, the possibilities of this day, revealed in this morning's sky!

"Why should we all use our creative power?
Because there is nothing that makes people
generous, joyful, lively, bold,
and compassionate,
so indifferent to fighting
and the accumulaton of objects and
Brenda Ueland

Every morning, I pray for the easing of the heartache I feel, read, and hear about. Then this sun comes, bringing hope and healing... A creative salve, and the absolute certainty of life's limitless possibilities...

Gentleness, this morning's fog, hugging the cove, is a whisper of delight... Of quiet love.

Being Happy

I'd like to think that Kolohe is watching the sunrise so intently with me, but I suspect this morning she has her eyes on something else...

"We all live with the objective of being happy;
our lives are all different and yet the same."
Anne Frank

Chase Perfection

Birds are singing so beautifully this morning. And light is spilling onto the horizon. A groggy mist of lavender love... My friend the Oak reaches for the sky. Quiet, but for the woods, we wait for the sun...

"Perfection is not attainable.
But if we chase perfection, we can catch
Vince Lombardi

Maybe I'll find my shoes and take my tripod into the back field this morning. See what I can see... Wild blackberry brush is full of red fruit. & dozens of birds watched sunrise with me. None would pose for a photo. But the sun did kindly...

Just Begun

"Live each day as if your life had just begun."
Johann von Goethe

Early peace. This morning, walking the ridge, celebrating this new day and praying with my body. Listening to the sky. Waiting for the sun... Simple things can be the most profound... Mist & fog & morning... Cool air. Pastel colors. Birds singing nonstop. Greens pop through the mist... Fog completely blocks Asheville from me... and tickles the golden sun.

Food for the Spirit

Red, red sun. Just hangs there, posing. Okay. I'll oblige.

Makes Gods of Us

"It’s compassion that makes gods of us."
~ Dorothy Gilman

Whenever the fog settles in the cove, I imagine Hawaiian ocean there and I am not so homesick anymore...

Took me awhile to finish my rosary this morning. Unexpected treat; Asheville Hot Air Balloon tried to race the rising sun across my horizon...

Always tricky, shooting into the sun...

"Only dreamers can teach us to soar."
~ Anne Marie Pierce

Great drama. Clouds and sun are playing hide-n-seek with the sky. My dreams soar to greet them...

This morning's sunrise. So gentle. Like a whisper of love between friends.

Effectively Witness

Gentle mist tickles the cove. On the sloping horizon, strong passionate red stains the clouds... Fog blankets, settles... Fills the heart with wonder... And gratitude.

"Everybody has to find his or her own way
of witnessing,
and the only way I can effectively witness
is by
writing and by trying to write
as well as I can."
~ Geoffrey Hill

More Fully

Delightful peace. Waited for the sun to break through the clouds.

Light fills the cove. Cool clean air. Chorus of birds. Sweet sounds. Clouds, billowing, covering. There is power in living.

"None of us really changes over time.
We only become more fully what we are."
Anne Rice

Things on this ridge are ever-changing. You have to be there aware. Reach out and grab them with eyes, ears, heart...

Communicated Sense of Fineness

"Beauty is an experience, nothing else.
It is not a fixed pattern
or an arrangement of features.
It is something
a glo
or a communicated sense of fineness."
D. H. Lawrence

Birds are singing like crazy this morning. Dozens of sweet notes. Just delightful... Wondrous sky. Look at it extend to beyond. Infinite possibilities. Tremendous healing... And peace... There is nothing more important than this moment, right here, right now.
